Litigation Paralegal Position Overview

A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to join its Newport Beach team. This position will provide substantive support to attorneys throughout all phases of civil litigation, including case management, discovery, motion practice, depositions, hearings, and trial preparation. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and an opportunity to work closely with a collaborative litigation team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize case files and litigation calendars
  • Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery, subpoenas, and other litigation documents
  • Assist with written discovery, document review, and document productions
  • Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, and other case-related events
  • Assist attorneys with legal research, case preparation, and factual investigation
  • Prepare deposition summaries, chronologies, exhibits, and other case materials
  • Assist with trial preparation and trial-related logistics
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure timely completion of litigation tasks
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and other parties as needed
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and physical case files

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of litigation paralegal experience preferred
  • Experience supporting civil litigation matters from inception through trial
  • Strong knowledge of California state and federal court procedures
  • Experience with discovery, filings, calendaring, and trial preparation
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software
  • Paralegal certificate preferred
