Commercial Roofing Lead Estimator

The Lead Estimator is the senior authority responsible for estimating integrity, bid discipline, and preconstruction governance at Standard Roofing. This role owns how work is priced, qualified, and handed off to operations, ensuring that projects are executable, profitable, and aligned with the Company’s operational capacity and risk tolerance.

This is not a volume-driven estimating role. It is a strategic risk-management and margin-protection role that serves as a critical gate between Sales opportunity generation and Operations execution.

Commercial Roofing Lead Estimator Objectives

  • Protects gross margin at the front end
  • Produces accurate, defensible, and executable bids
  • Eliminates scope gaps and pricing ambiguity
  • Supports predictable backlog and revenue delivery
  • Aligns sales ambition with operational reality

Commercial Roofing Lead Estimator Scope

  • Estimating standards, methodologies, and assumptions
  • Bid/no-bid governance and recommendation
  • Pricing strategy within Company guidelines
  • Estimator workload, prioritization, and quality control
  • Preconstruction handoff requirements to Operations

Commercial Roofing Lead Estimator Responsibilities

  • Lead all commercial roofing and sheet metal estimating activities
  • Establish and enforce standardized estimating processes and templates
  • Implement formal bid review and approval discipline
  • Serve as the final internal authority on scope completeness and pricing accuracy

Commercial Roofing Lead Estimator Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in commercial roofing and/or sheet metal estimating
  • Strong understanding of roofing systems, materials, and installation methods
  • Proven ability to price complex projects accurately
  • Demonstrated leadership of estimating or preconstruction teams
