Director of Land Development

This is an opportunity for a seasoned land development leader who wants to shape strategy, mentor high-performing teams, and drive meaningful development projects. The Director of Land Development plays a critical leadership role, combining technical expertise, client development, and people leadership in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment.

The Impact You’ll Have

As a senior leader, you’ll guide a regional land development practice while contributing to firmwide growth initiatives. You’ll influence project delivery, strengthen client relationships, and help expand market presence—while fostering a culture built on collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and grow a regional Land Development practice with a focus on strategic expansion
  • Provide direction, mentorship, and oversight to land development engineers and project managers
  • Plan, organize, and direct project work to ensure excellence in client service and deliverables
  • Manage projects to align with schedules, budgets, design criteria, and quality standards
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with private developers, municipalities, and regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate effectively across internal disciplines and offices
  • Partner with executive leadership to develop and execute market growth strategies
  • Drive team development through mentoring, coaching, and performance leadership

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 12+ years of progressive land development experience
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and complex projects
  • Strong technical foundation in land development design and delivery
  • Demonstrated success in client development and relationship management
  • Established relationships within the land development market
  • Strong business acumen, communication skills, and strategic mindset
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to lead in a dynamic environment
