Project Manager – Civil / Sitework Construction

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing civil construction contractor specializing in site development, underground utilities, mass grading, excavation, and public works projects. Due to continued growth and a strong backlog of work, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple civil construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.

This is a full-time position offering long-term stability, career growth, and the opportunity to work closely with field operations, clients, subcontractors, and company leadership.


Position Overview

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing civil/sitework construction projects while ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience managing underground utility, grading, excavation, and public works projects and be comfortable serving as the primary point of contact for owners, engineers, municipalities, and clients.


Responsibilities

  • Manage civil and sitework construction projects from award through completion.
  • Oversee project budgets, schedules, cost tracking, and forecasting.
  • Review plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, suppliers, engineers, and owners.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved.
  • Attend project meetings and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Support field operations and regularly visit project sites.
  • Identify and resolve project issues while maintaining project profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and contract specifications.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Project Management experience within civil construction.
  • Experience with underground utilities, mass grading, excavation, site development, and public works projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Experience managing project budgets, RFIs, submittals, schedules, and change orders.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with clients, municipalities, engineers, and field personnel.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • HeavyBid and/or Bluebeam experience is a plus.
  • Must be comfortable working in the field and maintaining a client-facing presence throughout project execution.
