Job Description

Ag & C&I Lender – Community Bank (Relationship-Driven Environment)

Full-Time | On-Site | Competitive Base + Incentives

A well-capitalized, relationship-focused community bank is seeking a proven commercial banker who can successfully manage a blended portfolio of Agricultural and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) relationships. This is a key production and relationship-management role supporting the bank’s strategic growth across the local business and ag communities.

We are looking for a lender who understands both sides of the market—small-to-mid-sized business lending and agricultural borrowers—and thrives in a community-bank culture where decisions are local, turnaround times are fast, and long-term relationships matter.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, grow, and manage a high-quality portfolio of Ag and C&I relationships, including producers, family farms, small businesses, and middle-market companies.

  • Structure, analyze, and underwrite credit requests for operating lines, term loans, equipment financing, real estate, livestock loans, and working-capital facilities.

  • Conduct regular borrower site visits, field inspections, and financial statement reviews.

  • Partner closely with credit, loan operations, and leadership to ensure timely processing, accurate documentation, and strong credit quality.

  • Deliver consultative financial guidance to customers while identifying cross-sell opportunities in deposits, treasury, and other banking services.

  • Maintain compliance with bank policy, regulatory expectations, and sound risk-management practices.

  • Represent the bank in the community—attending local events, building COIs, and strengthening the bank’s presence with ag producers and commercial customers.

Qualifications

  • 3–10+ years of lending experience in Ag, C&I, or both (community-bank experience strongly preferred).

  • Strong understanding of agricultural financial statements, crop and livestock operations, equipment usage, cash-flow cycles, and collateral evaluation.

  • Proficiency in C&I underwriting: business financials, global cash flow, collateral coverage, and risk rating methodologies.

  • Proven ability to source business, manage relationships, and maintain credit quality.

  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first, community-bank mindset.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Ag Business, Business Administration, or related field preferred.

What the Bank Offers

  • Competitive base salary aligned with experience (plus incentive compensation).

  • Local decision-making authority and a supportive leadership team.

  • A stable, well-capitalized institution with long-standing roots in the community.

  • Strong operational and credit support to help you grow your portfolio.

  • Opportunity to shape the bank’s presence in both Ag and Commercial lending markets.

  • Candidate must be located in the triangle formed by Amarillo, Hobbs & Wichita Falls.
