Job Description

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and confident Criminal Defense Attorney with substantial courtroom experience to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a proactive litigator who is comfortable managing cases independently, advocating in court, and negotiating favorable outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in criminal cases from arraignment through trial and sentencing
  • Conduct court appearances, including hearings, motions, and trials
  • Develop case strategies, including investigation and evidence review
  • Draft and argue motions, pleadings, and legal briefs
  • Negotiate plea agreements when appropriate
  • Advise clients on legal rights, case progress, and potential outcomes
  • Collaborate with investigators, expert witnesses, and support staff

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in TX
  • Minimum of 3 years of criminal defense experience
  • Demonstrated courtroom experience, including trial work
  • Strong oral advocacy and legal writing skills
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload effectively
  • Excellent negotiation and client communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience handling felony cases
  • Familiarity with local court procedures and judges
  • Bilingual abilities (a plus, but not required)

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
