Commercial Insurance Marketing Director

Location: Hybrid - Greater Philadelphia Area
Compensation: $130,000 - $200,000k base + Bonus/Commission

Join a growing brokerage expanding its footprint across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast by partnering closely with senior leadership to spearhead marketing strategy and carrier relationships. 

Position Summary 
The Marketing Director provides senior leadership for the middle-to-large market marketing function across all commercial business within the brokerage. The role markets and places accounts in consultation with Producers and Account Executives, responds to new account inquiries, negotiates premiums and terms with carrier underwriters, prepares proposals, and binds coverage. The Director stays responsive to urgent prospecting needs while building the infrastructure for a growing marketing team. 

What You'll Do 

Leadership and Strategy 

  • Lead middle-to-large market marketing efforts across all agencies, and respond quickly to urgent prospecting needs. 
  • Build out the infrastructure, processes, and team that support the marketing function. 
  • Help execute marketing strategies and objectives. 
  • Analyze lines of coverage and carrier trends to maximize new business placement and customer retention. 
  • Plan and conduct market research to identify opportunities for increased sales. 

Carrier Relationships 

  • Meet with carrier underwriters and marketing personnel to build relationships and learn each carrier's appetite for various classes of business. 
  • Maintain new business relationships with carriers.
  • Follow up with underwriters to answer questions and solicit quotes on new business.

Producer Partnership and Placement 

  • Consult with Producers on markets for their risks, appropriateness of coverage structure, and pricing and terms.
  • Assist with pre-underwriting information gathering, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations as needed.
  • Manage a high volume of insurance information in a variety of formats, and identify appropriate carriers for each risk in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and send new and remarket business submissions to appropriate carriers.
  • Quote submissions using online carrier rating systems.

Negotiation and Binding 

  • Negotiate premiums, coverages, terms, and conditions with insurance markets, within carrier delegated underwriting capacity and appetite. 
  • Prepare proposals, bind coverage as necessary, and deliver bound proposals to Producers.
