About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. This position is ideal for a skilled professional with a strong background in Division 5 steel estimating, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys collaborating with project managers, detailers, and clients. If you take pride in producing accurate, competitive bids and have a deep understanding of structural and miscellaneous metals, we’d love to connect with you.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for steel fabrication and erection projects

  • Perform material take-offs and pricing based on structural and architectural drawings

  • Review and interpret design documents in collaboration with detailers to confirm project scope

  • Participate in value-engineering exercises to optimize project cost and efficiency

  • Develop and maintain relationships with general contractors, clients, and vendors

  • Support project hand-off and transition to operations and fabrication teams


Requirements:

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in structural steel fabrication and erection (Division 5 preferred)

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel and miscellaneous metals drawings

  • Strong ability to perform detailed take-offs and generate competitive bids

  • Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, FabTrol, or similar platforms

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves):

  • Experience working on AISC-certified projects

  • Familiarity with joists, decking, stairs, and railings

  • Exposure to both public (schools, municipal) and private sector projects

  • Background handling projects ranging from $1.5M to $20M in scope
