Tax Supervising Senior

Location: San Jose, CA

Overview

An established West Coast accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Supervising Senior in San Jose, California. You will review returns, supervise engagement teams and serve as a key point of contact for clients.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review and approval of tax returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity
• Take responsibility for larger and more complex business returns and delegate to preparers
• Delegate tax research projects and participate in client meetings and tax planning
• Serve as a client service lead for assigned clients
• Manage governmental tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities as needed
• Develop, train and evaluate seniors and staff accountants
• Participate in practice development through referral sources and community and industry activities

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public accounting experience with progressive tax complexity, scope and research
• 2+ years representing clients before taxing authorities
• 1+ year supervising tax preparers
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's in Taxation preferred
