Tax Manager - Private Client Services

Location: Stamford, CT

Overview

A large national accounting and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its boutique Private Client Services practice in Stamford, Connecticut. You will provide tax compliance and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals, families, family offices and executives with complicated tax and financial situations.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax and consulting engagements and identify planning and consulting opportunities
• Work directly with clients and their advisors to gather information for returns
• Review individual, trust, estate, S corporation, foundation, partnership and gift tax returns and provide feedback to staff
• Direct communication with government agencies on complex matters
• Conduct advanced tax research and develop sound recommendations
• Supervise, schedule, train and coach associates and senior associates
• Build internal and external referral relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required (Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics preferred); Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance or law
• Public accounting or private client services experience preferred
• CPA, EA, attorney or equivalent credential required
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GoSystems, SurePrep and tax research tools preferred
