Tax Manager

Location: Oxnard, CA

Overview

An established West Coast accounting and consulting firm is seeking a Tax Manager in Oxnard, California. You will be responsible for the efficient, accurate and timely preparation of client returns and will make decisions on all but the most unusual tax situations.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical review and approval of returns and governmental tax examinations of any complexity
• Take full responsibility for larger returns and delegate to preparers
• Participate in client meetings and tax planning, and serve as a tax resource for audit and accounting teams
• Manage tax examinations and represent clients before taxing authorities as needed
• Keep engagements within budget and support accurate, timely billing and collections
• Develop, coach and train supervising seniors, seniors and staff
• Participate in practice development through referral sources and community and industry activities

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of public accounting experience with progressive tax complexity
• 1+ year supervising tax preparers
• Bachelor's degree in accounting required; Master's in Taxation preferred
• Current and valid CPA license required
