Tax Supervisor

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Overview

A regional tax, audit and advisory firm with a national reach and a local-firm feel is seeking a Tax Supervisor in Chattanooga. You will get to know clients and their businesses, handle tax compliance, projections and notice responses, assist with special projects and build lasting client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Act as a primary client contact and keep clients updated on engagement progress
• Advise clients on the tax implications of business objectives and recommend alternatives
• Manage the planning, administration and conclusion of client engagements
• Perform primary review of tax returns and written tax advice
• Prepare advanced returns involving special allocations, consolidated/related groups, multi-state issues and ownership transactions
• Assist with routine audits and notices from federal and state agencies
• Supervise junior staff, serve as a technical resource and help deliver in-house training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field
• CPA license preferred
• 4-7 years of public accounting experience preferred
• Knowledge of GAAP and accounting procedures
