Tax Manager - Private Client

Location: Schaumburg, IL

Overview

A large national CPA and advisory firm is seeking a Tax Manager for its Private Client Tax practice in the Chicago suburbs (Schaumburg or Libertyville). You will lead a team serving high-net-worth individuals, families and their affiliated business interests and act as a primary advisor on complex federal and state tax matters. The role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, delegating work and monitoring quality
• Develop and implement tailored tax strategies for high-net-worth clients
• Conduct ongoing tax research and apply legislative and regulatory changes to client planning
• Prepare and review federal and state returns for S corporations, partnerships, individuals and corporations
• Communicate proactively with clients, stakeholders and tax authorities
• Build and manage long-term client relationships
• Train, mentor and develop team members

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation preferred
• 6+ years of federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting
• CPA preferred
• Experience preparing and reviewing S corporation, partnership, individual and corporate returns
• Demonstrated experience managing and developing a team
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
