Job Snapshot

Job Description

Civil Litigation Attorney: 3–6+ Years

We are seeking an experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join a diverse litigation practice in the Chicago suburbs. This position will work directly with a senior attorney whose practice spans complex civil and commercial litigation, real estate disputes, professional liability, business matters, and select plaintiff-side litigation.

This is not a narrowly defined litigation position. We are looking for an attorney who wants exposure to a variety of matters and is comfortable representing both businesses and individuals depending on the case.

What We're Looking For:

  • 3–6+ years of civil litigation experience
  • Strong litigation experience is the primary requirement
  • Real estate litigation experience is highly preferred
  • Experience with commercial or business disputes is strongly valued
  • Additional experience involving professional liability, wrongful death, nursing home litigation, or other complex civil matters is a plus
  • Experience handling matters in Cook County is highly desirable
  • Illinois Bar admission
  • Strong legal research, writing, discovery, deposition, and motion practice skills
  • Ability to independently manage matters while working directly with an experienced senior attorney

The Practice:

The attorney joining this practice should expect variety. Matters may include:

  • Real estate litigation and property disputes
  • Commercial and business litigation
  • Contract disputes
  • Professional liability
  • Wrongful death
  • Nursing home litigation
  • Other complex civil litigation
  • Arbitration, mediation, and courtroom proceedings

Depending on the matter, the firm may represent either the plaintiff or the defense.

What Makes This Opportunity Different

We are looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial attorney who wants to become a well-rounded litigator rather than spend their career handling one narrow category of cases. You will work directly with a highly experienced attorney on sophisticated matters while also being expected to take ownership of your cases, interact directly with clients, develop strategy, and continue building your courtroom experience.

Additional:

  • Approximately 1,700–1,800 billable hours annually.
  • Generous base salary with substantial bonus potential.
  • Hybrid work setting.
  • Company vehicle for travel.
  • Full benefits.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration without regard to race, age, color, sex (including pregnancy), religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, military status, genetic information, or any other status protected by applicable laws or regulations.
