Construction Estimator

A respected and long-standing general contractor in the Janesville market is seeking an analytical and proactive Estimator to join their team. With a strong presence across healthcare, education, civic, and commercial construction, this firm is known for delivering complex, high-profile projects with a focus on collaboration, safety, and long-term client relationships. Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects from conceptual design through final bid
Analyze drawings, specifications, and proposals to determine project scope and requirements
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
Develop quantity takeoffs, pricing, and cost breakdowns for labor, materials, and equipment
Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and clients to ensure accurate budgets and schedules
Identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks during preconstruction
Support business development efforts by contributing to proposal preparation and presentations
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Construction Estimator on commercial projects
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
