We are actively seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and deliver complex mechanical construction projects across industrial, commercial, data center, and government sectors. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, subcontractor coordination, and field execution.
Overview:
The Project Manager serves as the primary point of communication between internal teams, field leadership, subcontractors, and clients. This position provides strategic direction and hands-on support, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements. Candidates must have strong experience interpreting mechanical drawings, specifications, and scopes of work.
This position receives direction from the Operations Manager (OM); and exercises direct supervision over the project-assigned Senior Project Superintendent (SPS) or Project Superintendent (PS) and associated labor staff.
Examples of Principal Duties:
- Lead pre-construction planning, including estimate reviews, contract analysis, and project handoff
- Define, write, and manage detailed project scopes of work
- Obtain required permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals
- Solicit, evaluate, and award qualified subcontractor bids in compliance with construction documents
- Procure materials and execute subcontractor agreements
- Prepare and manage submittals, RFIs, drawing logs, and change orders
- Develop and maintain project schedules, labor plans, and resource allocations
- Monitor project costs, review and approve invoices, and ensure adherence to the approved budget
- Conduct weekly project meetings with the Project Superintendent (or more frequently as needed)
- Perform jobsite visits to ensure quality control, safety compliance, and schedule adherence
- Maintain proactive communication with owners, clients, and stakeholders regarding project status
- Utilize Procore and other project management tools to track progress and documentation
- Delegate responsibilities effectively and support field leadership
- Follow and help improve UST’s internal processes and best practices
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, accountability, and leadership at all times
- Take initiative and perform additional duties as needed to support organizational goals
Qualification Guidelines:
- Minimum of 3 years as a Project Manager, or equivalent role, in a related industry.· Proficiency with ProCore and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience in mechanical construction, fuel systems, or related industrial trades preferred
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and scopes of work
- Knowledge of supervisory principles and effective employee and customer relations
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Positive, professional attitude with strong communication and leadership skills
- Willingness to travel as required for project needs
License or Certificate:
- Must possess a valid driver's license of the appropriate class
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to navigate and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather; this may include walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time
