A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator to join its growing preconstruction team. This organization has built a strong reputation delivering HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, controls, and design-build mechanical solutions across healthcare, higher education, industrial, commercial, and institutional markets.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator, preconstruction professional, or project executive looking to play a larger role in project strategy, client relationships, and long-term departmental leadership.
• Lead the estimating and preconstruction process for commercial and industrial mechanical projects
• Develop complete estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, sheet metal, controls, and related mechanical systems
• Review plans, specifications, and contract documents to identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, and project risks
• Prepare conceptual budgets, hard bids, negotiated proposals, and design-build estimates
• Solicit, evaluate, and level subcontractor and vendor pricing
• Collaborate with operations, project management, BIM, and executive leadership teams to develop winning project strategies
• Identify value engineering opportunities while protecting project profitability
• Mentor junior estimators and support the continued growth of the estimating department
• 10+ years of mechanical construction estimating experience preferred
• Strong commercial and/or industrial HVAC, piping, and plumbing experience
• Ability to build complete estimates and proposals, not simply perform takeoffs
• Experience with conceptual estimating, budgeting, negotiated work, and design-build projects
• Strong understanding of labor productivity, equipment pricing, material costs, and subcontractor management
• Previous experience as a Senior Estimator, Chief Estimator, Estimating Manager, Preconstruction Manager, Project Executive, or Senior Project Manager with estimating responsibilities
• Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience will also be considered
• Established mechanical contractor with a strong reputation and long-tenured leadership team
• Diverse project portfolio including healthcare, education, industrial, commercial, and institutional work
• Strong backlog of negotiated and repeat business
