Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Lines Account Manager to join a growing insurance team in Florida. This position is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of commercial accounts while providing exceptional client service, supporting producers, coordinating renewals, and maintaining strong carrier relationships.
The ideal candidate is a knowledgeable, organized insurance professional who takes ownership of their accounts and can effectively manage multiple priorities while delivering a high level of service.


Key Responsibilities

  • Client & Account Management
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned commercial clients
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client questions and coverage needs
  • Assist with certificates, endorsements, policy changes, billing questions, and other service requests
  • Review client exposures and assist with appropriate coverage recommendations
  • Resolve account issues and provide proactive communication throughout the policy lifecycle

Renewals & Marketing

  • Manage the renewal process from preparation through policy issuance
  • Review coverage, exposures, loss history, and client needs
  • Prepare renewal applications and complete underwriting submissions
  • Market accounts to appropriate carriers and wholesalers
  • Obtain and compare quotes, terms, conditions, and coverage options
  • Present renewal options and recommendations to clients and producers
  • Follow up with carriers and underwriters to ensure timely completion

New Business Support

  • Assist producers with new business submissions and marketing
  • Gather underwriting information and prepare complete submission packages
  • Identify appropriate markets based on carrier appetite and account needs
  • Coordinate quoting, proposals, binding, and policy issuance
  • Support producers in developing and retaining profitable client relationships
  • Identify opportunities for account rounding and cross-selling

Policy & Account Administration

  • Process endorsements, policy changes, cancellations, audits, certificates, and other transactions
  • Review policies, binders, endorsements, and invoices for accuracy
  • Maintain complete and accurate account documentation in the agency management system
  • Follow agency procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Assist with claims-related inquiries and policy discrepancies as needed

Carrier & Team Relationships

  • Develop strong relationships with carriers, wholesalers, and underwriters
  • Communicate effectively regarding account needs and coverage requirements
  • Stay current on carrier appetite, underwriting guidelines, products, and market conditions
  • Partner closely with producers and internal teams to ensure seamless client service
  • Assist with client meetings and account presentations when needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Active Florida 2-20 General Lines insurance license required
  • 5+ years of Commercial Lines insurance experience
  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, coverages, and policy administration
  • Experience managing renewals, marketing, quoting, and policy servicing
  • Strong understanding of carrier underwriting requirements and market conditions
  • Experience with an agency management system; Applied EPIC preferred
  • Strong computer, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing small to middle-market commercial accounts
  • CISR, CIC, or other insurance designation preferred
  • Experience with Florida commercial insurance markets
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance experience
