Project Manager / Estimator – Heavy Civil Construction
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager / Estimator with a strong background in heavy civil construction. The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects and estimating work across areas such as earthwork, underground utilities, concrete paving, site development, or other heavy civil scopes.
This is a great opportunity for someone who can manage projects from estimating through completion while working closely with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field crews.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate estimates, bids, and proposals for heavy civil projects
- Manage projects from preconstruction through completion
- Review plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Develop project schedules and budgets
- Coordinate with field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Track project costs, change orders, and overall profitability
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget
- Attend project meetings and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction
- Strong understanding of earthwork, utilities, concrete paving, site development, or related scopes
- Previous experience with both estimating and project management preferred
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with construction estimating and project management software is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required
