QA/QC Manager – Welding & Fabrication

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Manager to lead quality control efforts in the welding and fabrication department, overseeing the production of tanks, towers, and other steel structures. The ideal candidate will ensure all products meet project specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements through thorough inspection, documentation, and continuous improvement practices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all quality assurance and quality control activities for welded and fabricated steel products.

  • Oversee inspection and testing of welds, materials, and final assemblies in accordance with project and code requirements (e.g., AWS, ASME).

  • Maintain quality records and documentation, including weld maps, inspection reports, and nonconformance reports.

  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and project management to resolve quality issues.

  • Train and support shop personnel on welding procedures and quality standards.

  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures and applicable codes and specifications.

  • Lead audits and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product quality.


Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in quality control within a welding/fabrication environment.

  • Strong knowledge of welding codes and standards (AWS, ASME, API, etc.).

  • Familiarity with tank, tower, and steel structure fabrication practices.

  • Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail, documentation skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic QA/QC software or documentation systems.
