An established, multi-store furniture company is looking to add a rockstar Human Resources and Accounting Manager their growing team.  This is a fantastic opportunity to join a 150-year-old family owned company looking for a career-driven individual seeking a challenging role combining human resources management and accounting responsibilities. As the Human Resources and Accounting Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's HR functions and financial processes

Human Resources Management Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, employee relations, policy development, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, from sourcing and screening candidates to conducting interviews, extending job offers, and onboarding new employees.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and promote a positive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, ensure compliance with labor laws, and address any employee relations issues.
  • Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and guidelines in alignment with company objectives and legal requirements.
  • Coordinate training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.

Accounting Manager Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees in compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee accounts payable functions, including processing vendor invoices and expense reports and ensuring timely payments.
  • Maintain accurate financial records, reconcile accounts, and prepare financial reports for management review.

Administrative Support Responsibilities:

  • Assist with general office administration tasks, including managing office supplies, maintaining records, and handling incoming inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support various operational needs as required.
  • Utilize accounting software and the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to perform business and financial analysis and produce accurate reports.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Utilize accounting software effectively and proficiently.
  • Stay current on relevant labor laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees, vendors, and other stakeholders
  • Display sound judgment and decision-making skills in HR and accounting matters
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including occasional weekends and holidays.

Education and Professional Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or related area (required)
  • HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM (preferred) 
  • Minimum of 2+ years (5+ years preferred) of experience in human resources management, recruitment, employee relations, and HR policy development.
  • Strong knowledge (2+ years) of accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in accounts payable tasks and accounting software
  • Proficient in using accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with employees, vendors, and management.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant labor laws, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive employee and financial information.
