Job Description

Quality Inspector – HVAC / MEP Construction

Award-winning construction firm seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support major mechanical projects and protect installation standards across HVAC, piping, plumbing, and sheet metal systems.

This role plays a key part in ensuring systems are installed correctly, tested properly, and documented thoroughly — while maintaining strong client confidence and project performance.

What We’re Looking For

  • Weld inspection certification preferred (CWI, VT-Level II, API, or similar)

  • 4+ years in mechanical systems: HVAC, piping, plumbing, sheet metal

  • Deep knowledge of applicable codes and industry standards

  • Hands-on experience with welding, brazing, fusing, testing, and system examination

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and test results independently

  • Experience developing or implementing QA/QC processes

  • Strong communication skills — written, verbal, and field-facing

  • Willingness to travel periodically to job sites and fabrication shops

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Perform inspections, audits, and testing on mechanical systems to ensure compliance with design specs, codes, and quality standards

  • Identify deficiencies early and work collaboratively to resolve issues before they impact schedule or cost

  • Support Project Managers, Engineers, and field teams on quality-related matters

  • Review drawings, submittals, and documentation to confirm alignment with project requirements

  • Maintain detailed inspection reports, testing documentation, QA checklists, and certifications

  • Oversee pressure testing for piping and duct systems to validate system integrity and safety compliance

This is a field-driven, detail-oriented role for someone who takes pride in doing installations the right way — the first time.
