Senior Litigation Attorney

Oakland, CA | Hybrid | Full-Time

A well-established California law firm is seeking an experienced Senior Litigation Attorney to join its Oakland team.

This opportunity is designed for an attorney with 8+ years of civil litigation experience who is comfortable managing matters independently, developing case strategy, and working directly with clients.

The attorney will handle a variety of civil litigation matters and have the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Develop case strategy and work directly with clients

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery and other legal documents

  • Take and defend depositions

  • Prepare matters for mediation, arbitration and trial

  • Appear in state and federal court as needed

  • Collaborate with partners and other attorneys

  • Manage case deadlines, strategy and client communication

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of civil litigation experience

  • Active California Bar membership in good standing

  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage litigation matters

  • Deposition experience required

  • Strong legal research, writing and analytical skills

  • Excellent communication and client-management skills

  • Trial experience preferred

  • Experience handling sophisticated civil litigation matters preferred
