Job Snapshot

Job Description

A well-established real estate development company is looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join its Dallas team. This is an opportunity to work on the development side of multifamily projects and gain exposure to the full life cycle of a project—not simply one piece of the construction process.

This role is ideal for someone with a solid construction background who enjoys being involved in the details while also understanding the bigger picture. You’ll work closely with contractors, consultants, development leadership and internal teams to help move projects from planning through construction and completion.

What You’ll Do

  • Work closely with project and development leadership throughout the construction process
  • Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, architects and consultants
  • Monitor project schedules, milestones and overall progress
  • Participate in regular site walks and help identify and resolve construction issues
  • Assist with project budgets, cost tracking and financial reporting
  • Review and track change orders, invoices and project costs
  • Help identify cost and schedule risks and support value-engineering efforts
  • Maintain project documentation, reports and meeting records
  • Coordinate action items and follow up with project stakeholders
  • Participate in owner, architect and contractor meetings
  • Work closely with development, design, finance, legal and construction teams
  • Provide support throughout the overall execution of multifamily development projects

What We’re Looking For

  • Approximately 4 years of experience in construction, project management or real estate development
  • Experience with multifamily, residential, commercial, hospitality or other complex construction projects
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Real Estate Development, Business or a related field preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction schedules, budgets, contracts and project documentation
  • Experience working with general contractors and subcontractors
  • Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills
  • Experience with Procore or similar construction/project management software
  • Highly organized with strong follow-through and attention to detail
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Comfortable spending time on active construction sites
  • Valid driver’s license

Here you will have the opportunity to see projects from a broader perspective and work closely with the people responsible for the development and overall success of the project.

For someone coming from a general contracting or construction management background, this can be an opportunity to expand into the development side of the business while continuing to use your construction knowledge every day. If you’re ready for a role where you can have greater visibility into the project and be involved in more of the decisions that shape it, we’d like to hear from you.
