Business Development Manager / Director – Commercial General Contractor

A long-standing and highly respectedcon commercial general contractor in the Atlanta area is looking to add a Business Development Manager or Director to its team. This is an opportunity for someone with strong local relationships, a solid understanding of the Atlanta commercial market, and the ability to help drive continued growth across the region.

This person will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, building and maintaining relationships with owners, developers, architects, engineers, brokers, and other industry partners, and helping position the company for negotiated and relationship-driven work.

Candidates may come from a construction, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate, or related professional services background, as long as they understand the built environment and have strong relationships within the Atlanta market.

Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships throughout the Atlanta commercial market
  • Identify, pursue, and help secure new opportunities
  • Represent the company at industry events, client meetings, networking functions, and community events
  • Work closely with executive leadership, estimating, preconstruction, and operations teams to support pursuit strategy
  • Track market activity, upcoming opportunities, key clients, and competitors
  • Assist with presentations, proposals, interviews, and client-facing materials
  • Help grow brand awareness and strengthen the company’s presence in the local market
  • Maintain long-term relationships with existing clients while developing new ones

Ideal background:

  • Experience in business development, client relations, marketing, preconstruction, project management, or operations within construction, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate, or a related field
  • Strong network in the Atlanta-area development, design, construction, or real estate community
  • Ability to build trust with owners and decision-makers
  • Professional, polished, and comfortable representing the company externally
  • Strong communication, follow-up, and relationship-building skills
  • Understanding of the construction and development process
  • Self-motivated, strategic, and able to work closely with senior leadership
