Job Description

We are seeking a results-driven Senior Buyer to lead procurement of metal fabrication components and electronic assemblies supporting custom machinery and automation systems.

*Must be willing to relocate or commute to the Quad Cities*

Responsibilities:

• Source, negotiate, and manage suppliers for structural steel, machined components, drives, motors, PLCs, sensors, and automation components

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and cost-reduction initiatives

• Manage supplier performance, risk mitigation, and dual-sourcing strategies

• Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Finance on BOMs, lead times, and cost targets

• Monitor market trends and supply chain risks, implementing contingency plans

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field

• 5–10+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing or capital equipment

• Knowledge of metal fabrication and industrial electronics

• Proven negotiation and supplier management experience

• ERP experience and advanced Excel/cost analysis skills

Preferred:

• Experience in low-volume, high-mix environments

• Robotics, welding automation, or motion control familiarity

• Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or CPSM/CPIM certification

Estimated 10-15 K annually in profit sharing bonus

Must be local to the Rock Island area or willing to relocate
