Position Overview

A well-established, multi-office law firm is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its growing San Diego office. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to work on sophisticated litigation matters while gaining hands-on experience in a collaborative and supportive environment. The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to take ownership of cases while working alongside experienced litigators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a civil litigation caseload from inception through resolution or trial.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal memoranda, settlement agreements, and other litigation-related documents.
  • Conduct and defend depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
  • Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit management, and trial strategy.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop effective case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Conduct legal research and provide practical legal analysis on complex litigation issues.

Qualifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.
  • 1+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and court appearances.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple matters while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school preferred.
