1800 annual billable requirement (reasonable + sustainable)
Established boutique with a strong reputation in construction litigation
Direct client interaction
Meaningful courtroom exposure
Clear path for growth (not a “forever associate” role)
Collegial, non-micromanaging environment
Handle commercial construction disputes from inception through resolution
Represent general contractors, subcontractors, developers, and owners
Draft and argue dispositive motions
Take and defend depositions
Manage discovery strategy
Participate in mediations and trials
Work directly with clients on strategy and case evaluation
This is not a document-review-heavy role — you’ll actually litigate.
3+ years of litigation experience ( will consider insurance defense candidates that want to switch practice areas)
Experience with construction defect, contract disputes, delay claims, or complex commercial litigation
Comfortable running files with partner oversight
Strong writing and courtroom skills
South Carolina Bar admission (or ability to waive in)
