Position: Employment Law Associate (Public Sector)

They are seeking a driven, client-focused Employment Law Associate to advise and represent public entities that keep California communities running.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counsel on leaves (FMLA/CFRA), wage/hour compliance, and disciplinary issues.

  • Direct sensitive workplace investigations.

  • Handle administrative hearings and defend against FEHA/Title VII claims.

  • Draft personnel handbooks, custom policies, and employment agreements.

Qualifications

  • Bar Admission: Active California State Bar license in good standing.

  • Experience: 2+ years practicing employment law.

  • Public Sector Background: Prior experience with PERB, the Brown Act, or the California Government Code is highly preferred.

  • Skills: Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently with strong strategic judgment.
