Job Title: Grain Accountant
Location: Iowa (specific location disclosed during interview)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Grain Accountant to join our team at a well-established agricultural operation in Iowa. This role is ideal for someone with a background in agriculture-related accounting, particularly in grain handling or elevator operations.
As a key member of our 5–6 person office, you’ll play a hands-on role in supporting day-to-day accounting functions while collaborating closely with the Controller. Assist with daily accounting operations including payables, receivables, and reconciliations
Accurately record and monitor grain transactions, including scale tickets, settlements, and inventory
Understand and manage grain contracts, basis terms, and commodity receiving processes
Support compliance and reporting requirements related to grain handling
Collaborate with team members to ensure office needs are met and processes run smoothly
Assist the Controller with month-end close, reporting, and other financial tasks as needed
Background in accounting within a grain elevator or agriculture-related business
Familiarity with grain scale operations, commodity receiving, and grain contracts
Knowledge of basis terms and compliance requirements in the ag industry
Strong organizational and time management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Flexibility to jump in where needed in a small team environment
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Ag Business, or related field
2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the agriculture sector
Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
