General Liability Defense Attorney

We are a regional law firm who is looking for a proactive and experienced General Liability Defense Attorney to join our fast-paced insurance defense firm in an in-office position. This role is ideal for a litigation professional with 3 or more years of experience who is prepared to manage a demanding caseload. The successful attorney must be licensed and in good standing with the Florida Bar.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling all aspects of the litigation process, from initial case assessment through discovery and motion practice, focusing primarily on general liability defense matters.
• Drafting responsive pleadings, motions for summary judgment, and other complex litigation documents.
• Taking and defending depositions of lay witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Developing and executing effective litigation strategies to achieve favorable outcomes for our clients in general liability cases.
• Communicating regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active member in good standing of the Florida Bar.
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience of litigation is required. (Courtroom experience a bonus)
• Proven experience in insurance defense, particularly in general liability matters, is strongly preferred.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as superior analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, manage a high volume of cases, and meet strict deadlines.
