Executive Director

Legal Services Nonprofit | Sioux Falls, South Dakota

A respected nonprofit legal services organization is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission! This is an opportunity to guide an established organization, strengthen its operations and financial sustainability, and expand its impact throughout the region.

The Role

The Executive Director will:

• Set strategic priorities and translate them into measurable results
• Lead, develop, and support a professional, mission-driven team
• Oversee operations, budgeting, grants, compliance, and organizational performance
• Strengthen fundraising and relationships with donors, foundations, and community partners
• Build partnerships with courts, law firms, legal organizations, and service providers
• Serve as the organization’s primary community representative
• Partner with the Board on governance and long-term planning

Qualifications

• J.D. required
• Admission to the South Dakota Bar or ability to become admitted within one year
• At least five years of legal practice or management experience
• Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Commitment to serving individuals with limited access to legal resources

Experience with nonprofit leadership, legal services, fundraising, grants, or financial management is preferred.
