Job Description

A growing litigation team is seeking an associate with 2–5 years of experience to support a practice focused on defense-side civil matters, including exposure to liability and insurance-related disputes.

This position offers hands-on involvement in active litigation, with the opportunity to take ownership of files, interact directly with clients, and contribute to case strategy early on.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in the defense of a variety of civil claims, including tort-based matters and commercial disputes
• Support all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution
• Prepare written work product such as motions, briefs, and discovery
• Participate in depositions, case evaluations, and settlement discussions
• Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to move matters forward efficiently

What They’re Looking For

• JD from an accredited law school
• Licensed to practice law in Virginia (or ability to waive in)
• 2–5 years of litigation experience, ideally with some exposure to defense-side work
• Strong writing and analytical skills
• Ability to manage competing deadlines and contribute within a team environment
