About the Opportunity

A respected plaintiff-side law firm is seeking an experienced Mass Torts Attorney to join its growing litigation team in New York City. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a strong litigation background and experience handling asbestos matters who wants to take on sophisticated, high-impact plaintiff litigation.

The attorney will work on complex mass tort and toxic exposure matters involving individuals and families who have suffered serious injuries, while collaborating with experienced litigators and other professionals throughout the life of each case.

What You'll Do

  • Manage plaintiff-side mass tort and asbestos litigation matters from investigation through resolution

  • Develop case strategy involving liability, exposure, causation, and damages

  • Conduct and defend depositions and participate in court proceedings

  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, memoranda, and other substantive legal documents

  • Analyze medical, employment, product, corporate, and exposure records

  • Conduct discovery and develop evidence relating to asbestos exposure and responsible parties

  • Work with medical, scientific, industrial hygiene, and other expert witnesses

  • Communicate directly with clients and their families regarding case development and litigation strategy

  • Participate in settlement negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation

  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, experts, and co-counsel across multiple jurisdictions

  • Manage deadlines, caseloads, and competing priorities in a fast-paced litigation environment

What We're Looking For

  • J.D. from an accredited law school

  • Active New York Bar admission and good standing

  • 3+ years of substantive litigation experience

  • Prior asbestos litigation experience strongly preferred

  • Experience with plaintiff-side personal injury, mass tort, toxic tort, products liability, or complex civil litigation

  • Deposition, discovery, motion practice, and courtroom experience

  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills

  • Ability to independently manage cases while working effectively as part of a collaborative team

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
