Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Masonry Foreman (Field Leader) Locations Needed

  • Charlotte, NC (1 Position)
  • Charleston, SC (1 Position)

We are an established, field-driven commercial masonry contractor based in the Charlotte market. Operating for over 20 years with a dedicated team of roughly 200 employees, we boast a strong, consistent project backlog across the Southeast. We win work by delivering in the field. Our culture is built by and for the people out here laying block and pouring grout. This is a production-first, execution-focused environment where we recognize hard work and actively promote our top performers from within.

Position Overview:

We are looking for two no-nonsense, execution-focused Masonry Foremen who excel at driving production on large-scale commercial scopes. You will be the primary direct leader on the ground, responsible for managing crews, pushing daily footage goals, and ensuring flawless execution from footing to topping out. If you are a field-first leader who leads by example and thrives in a fast-paced commercial environment, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive Field Production: Oversee day-to-day layout, scaffolding setups, and material staging to keep masonry crews laying block and brick at maximum efficiency.
  • Crew Leadership: Supervise, motivate, and direct teams of masons and tenders, enforcing strict daily production and quality benchmarks.
  • Safety Enforcement: Maintain a zero-compromise safety environment, ensuring full OSHA compliance, proper scaffolding inspections, and daily toolbox talks.
  • Quality & Execution: Review blueprints, structural drawings, and submittals to ensure all brick, block, and stone installations meet rigorous structural and aesthetic specifications.
  • Material & Equipment Logistics: Track inventory, manage deliveries, and coordinate heavy equipment operations (forklifts, mixers) to prevent any downtime on the wall.
  • Documentation: Complete precise daily logs, track hours, manage timecards, and communicate progress updates directly to the Project Superintendent.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Proven Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a Foreman or Lead Mason on large-scale commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
  • Expert Trade Skills: Deep structural knowledge of commercial CMU block laying, brick veneering, flashing systems, and rebar/grout placement.
  • Plan Reading: Absolute proficiency in reading architectural and structural blueprints, shop drawings, and layout lines.
  • Leadership Grit: Strong, direct communication style with the ability to manage diverse field crews and hold people accountable to production deadlines.
  • Safety Mindset: OSHA 10 certification is required (OSHA 30 is highly preferred); solid understanding of scaffold safety regulations.
  • Logistics: Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to travel to local commercial job sites.

What We Offer

  • Stability: Steady, year-round work driven by an extensive, multi-million-dollar project backlog.
  • Career Growth: A proven track record of developing field talent and elevating high-performing Foremen into Superintendent positions.
  • Competitive Compensation: Strong hourly wage or salary package based on depth of commercial experience.
  • Robust Benefits: Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance packages alongside paid time off.
