Job Snapshot

Job Description

I am working with a boutique firm in El Segundo, CA that is growing and looking to add an Associate Attorney to their practice. A successful candidate is someone who enjoys labor and employment law. They are looking for someone who has drive and appreciates the complexities of the law. You will have an opportunity to work with elite clients, mostly defense but some plaintiff (c-suite executives) as well.

A majority of the team does work on-site, but they understand that people may reside outside of the El Segundo area. They would like their teammate to be in office three days per week to collaborate.

The managing partners are all X-Big Law, and they are not about the 2400 hour life. They ask for 1600 billable hours. If you bill more than that, you will be paid a $ bonus per each hour billed. They throw in discretionary bonuses as they feel fit too. The firm has low turnover and a majority of the team has worked together for 10+ years.

About the role-

  • Working with partners handling labor and employment matters

  • 1600 hours- hourly bonuses + discretionary bonuses

  • Hybrid- starting ideally one month on-site then three days at home, two at home

  • Laid back in-office culture-if you need to leave early for a kids soccer game or appointment, they aren't going to micromanage you

  • Would like someone with one year of insurance defense litigation experience

  • Health, monthly marketing allowance, MCLE's, parking, bar dues, % originations

  • Must have graduated law school 2022 or before

  • Candidate is intrinsically motivated

  • JD from ABA law school

  • Admitted in CA- in good standing

Compensation will depend on a combination of education and experience. Full benefits and bonus structure in place.
