Job Description

Position:  Account Specialist – Commercial Lines/Real Estate

  • Serves as the day-to-day contact for all client requests within a predominantly residential owner/developer book of business, with direction from the Account Executive, prepares (or delegates where applicable) all relevant renewal materials (Premium & loss summary, exposures, coverage comparison, premium & rate, etc.).
  • Owns the marketing process for new project policies, such as complex wrap-up and builders risk insurance programs, along with new and renewal ancillary lines of coverage.
  • Active participation in the creation and refinement of coverages and procedures specific to project placements.
  • Using the client workbook, and under the direction of the Account Executive, creates the marketing submission and manages ongoing negotiates with carriers.
  • Owns meeting facilitation, client interactions, negotiations, technical analysis, program design with oversight minimal from AE.
  • Supports in winning new business & supports AE with new client onboarding.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate client problems and provide solutions proactively.
  • Receives quotes, reviews for accuracy / desired coverages, terms, pricing from submission, generates and populates the proposal and sends to Account Executive for completion/review.
  • Receives policies, sends instructions to the applicable COE and keeps COE abreast of any changes that occur during negotiations with ability to process the policy if needed.
  • Perform premium allocations, surplus lines template preparation, Certificate of Insurance request template preparation & master approval, on-demand certificates, basic contract reviews, policy endorsements, resolving coverage and premium discrepancy issues, and audits on expired and/or non-renewed policies.
  • As needed, serve as a team lead, mentor, and/or manager for other Account Managers within the department. This includes ensuring quality control standards of the team are continually maintained and working with the Commercial Lines Leader regarding department strategies, needs, and performance.

 

Account Specialist – Commercial Lines/Real Estate

You Should Have:

  • 5+ yrs. applicable insurance experience with specialty experience preferred.
  • Ability to work within AMS and maintain data completeness standards.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently, lead project special assignments.
  • Demonstrated ability to build underwriter and client relationships.
  • Ability to delegate to appropriate parties when necessary.
  • Experience with MS Office products required (specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel).
  • Holds or is pursuing formal specialty designation [ARM, CPCU, Industry specific designation] (preferred).
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
