What You'll Do
- Prepare accurate, competitive estimates for commercial MEP construction projects from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documents to develop complete material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricing.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and analyze project scope to identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering solutions.
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor pricing to develop the most competitive proposals.
- Participate in bid reviews, project handoffs, and preconstruction meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to operations.
- Manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional accuracy.
- Build strong relationships with general contractors, owners, engineers, architects, suppliers, and subcontractors.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of commercial MEP estimating experience.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related building systems.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience preparing conceptual budgets, hard bids, negotiated work, and design-build estimates.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software, Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and other construction management tools.
- Self-motivated professional who enjoys collaborating, solving problems, and contributing to company success.
