Litigation Associate 3+ Years

About the Opportunity
An established and dynamic law firm in Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its practice. The firm handles a broad spectrum of general and complex litigation matters across diverse industries, including commercial litigation, employment disputes, municipal litigation, toxic tort defense, and personal injury defense.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative team of attorneys, taking a lead role in managing cases from inception through resolution, including courtroom strategy and trial preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Case Management & Strategy: Lead clients through the full litigation lifecycle, anticipating legal risks and developing strategic positions for both actual and prospective lawsuits.
Pleadings & Discovery: Draft pleadings, briefs, position statements, dispositive motions, and written discovery. Conduct and defend depositions.
Trial Preparation & Advocacy: Conduct legal research, interview witnesses, prepare for trial, and present complex legal arguments in court.
Client Advisory: Provide analysis and counsel on legal policy, operating practices, and procedural improvements to help clients mitigate future litigation risks.
Professional Development: Participate in practice group meetings, author internal/external legal publications, attend networking events, and engage in firm-sponsored seminars and CLE initiatives.
Candidate Qualifications
Licensure: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school and active admission to the Pennsylvania Bar in good standing.
Experience: 3 to 6 years of general litigation experience. Prior trial experience is strongly preferred.
Legal Expertise: Deep understanding of federal, state, and local laws, with exposure to general business law through complex insurance coverage litigation.

Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with a proven track record of effective client-facing interaction and courtroom presentation.
