Heavy Civil Estimator – Heavy Civil / Site Development
Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior Civil Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil or site development construction with a strong background in earthwork, underground utilities, paving, and land development projects. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor specializing in large residential developments, roadways, commercial site developments, and other civil infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil and site development projects.
- Review plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for clearing, earthwork, grading, underground utilities, paving, and related civil work.
- Develop competitive bid proposals and pricing strategies.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
- Coordinate with project management and operations teams throughout the bidding process.
- Maintain client relationships and assist with project handoffs after award.
- Manage multiple estimates while meeting bid deadlines.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of estimating experience in heavy civil or site development construction.
- Experience estimating earthwork, grading, underground utilities, paving, land development, roadways, etc.
- Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid, Trimble Business Center (TBC), Agtek, or similar estimating software is preferred
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and quantity takeoffs.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
