A food manufacturer is seeking a Production Planning & Inventory Analyst to support its growing operations team. This role serves as a key conduit between corporate leadership and plant operations, ensuring alignment between sales forecasts, production planning, and inventory strategy. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, operational awareness, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze historical trends and seasonality to develop sales forecasts and finished goods inventory plans
Create, maintain, and track purchase orders for finished goods and raw materials to ensure timely and complete delivery
Coordinate production planning and manage raw material inventories, ensuring utilization within shelf-life requirements
Resolve scheduling conflicts, material delays, and last-minute production adjustments
Provide reporting and analytics comparing optimized vs. actual inventory levels, identifying service gaps and recommending corrective actions
Utilize ERP systems to schedule, manage, and track production activities to ensure finished goods orders are filled on time and in full
Foster positive vendor relationships by supplying forward-looking forecasts and maintaining proactive communication
Collaborate cross-functionally in a process-driven, time-sensitive production environment
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred
5+ years of production planning, supply chain, or inventory management experience in food or beverage manufacturing preferred
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel required
QuickBooks experience preferred
Strong math and analytical skills
Excellent time management and organizational abilities
Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to think critically and apply logic to solve complex operational and production scheduling challenges
Ability to collaborate across departments to achieve results
