Job Title: Operations Manager – Heavy Highway & Bridge

Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Operations Manager to oversee and drive performance across our heavy highway and bridge projects. The ideal candidate will bring 10+ years of experience in estimating or managing large-scale civil construction projects. This individual will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, project execution, and alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple heavy highway and bridge projects.

  • Provide leadership and support to project managers, superintendents, and estimating teams.

  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.

  • Develop and implement operational processes and best practices.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast workloads, allocate resources, and manage risk.

  • Lead efforts in client relations, subcontractor negotiations, and vendor management.

  • Support estimating on strategic bids and major pursuits.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in estimating or managing heavy highway and bridge construction projects.

  • Proven leadership and team management experience in the civil construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of project controls, scheduling, and budgeting.

  • Proficiency with industry tools such as HCSS, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.

  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Experience managing DOT or public infrastructure contracts.

  • Familiarity with construction management software and project reporting tools.
