Position Summary:

We are seeking a well-rounded, experienced Assistant Manager to join our leadership team. This individual will play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the yard and serve as a key liaison between the Feedlot Manager and department heads. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven leader with a background in feedlot operations and a passion for team development to grow professionally within a well-established company.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily feedlot operations across all departments (Cattle, Feed, Maintenance, and Mill)
  • Supervise and support four department managers, ensuring alignment with operational goals and standards
  • Work closely with the Feedlot Manager to implement strategy, improve efficiency, and maintain livestock health and performance
  • Lead team meetings, monitor KPIs, and drive accountability at all levels
  • Foster a culture of safety, respect, and continuous improvement
  • Troubleshoot operational issues and assist in developing and executing solutions
  • Mentor and develop team members, identifying talent for future leadership roles

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a department manager or higher in a feedlot or comparable livestock operation
  • Strong working knowledge of all aspects of feedlot operations (cattle handling, feeding, health, equipment, maintenance, etc.)
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Hands-on, solution-oriented, and committed to high standards of animal care and employee safety
