Job Description

Maintenance Technician – 2nd or 3rd Shift

Responsibilities

  • Perform upgrades to refrigerated warehouse space alongside the Maintenance/Engineering team

  • Maintain warehouse and production facilities in effective operating condition

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair machinery and facility systems (electrical, plumbing, etc.) to minimize downtime

  • Coordinate project status with supervisors to prevent unplanned production interruptions

  • Perform mechanical equipment repairs and support development of PSM and preventive maintenance (PM) programs

  • Respond to line calls and complete both planned and unplanned maintenance work

  • Complete work orders including annual, monthly, weekly, and daily PMs

  • Support and manage maintenance and engineering projects as needed

  • Perform general building maintenance, including light electrical work

  • Conduct occasional repairs on material handling equipment

  • Collaborate with production teams to improve equipment and line efficiency

  • Work with conveyors, gearboxes, motors, PLCs, and soft-start programming


Qualifications

  • Ability to follow maintenance and repair plans effectively

  • 2+ years of mechanical and electrical maintenance experience (or equivalent trade school experience)

  • Strong understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques

  • Experience with forklifts and warehouse equipment maintenance preferred

  • Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems

  • Experience with conveyors, grinders, metal detectors, mills, and evaporators

  • Experience in refrigerated or cold storage environments preferred

  • Proficient with hand and power tools (drills, grinders, sanders, etc.)

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Well-organized with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively

  • Ability to lift up to 100 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
