About the Opportunity
Our client, a growing and relationship-driven community bank, is seeking a Controller (CPA required) to join its leadership team. This is a pivotal role offering the opportunity to guide financial operations, enhance reporting systems, and contribute to the continued growth and stability of a respected local institution.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions in compliance with GAAP, regulatory, and internal standards.
Manage preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Lead budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Monitor internal controls, risk management, and compliance with banking regulations.
Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and professional growth.
Partner with executive leadership and auditors to maintain transparency and efficiency.
Provide financial insights to support lending, investment, and operational strategies.
Qualifications
CPA designation required (active license).
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5–7 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, ideally in banking or financial services.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, regulatory reporting, and internal control frameworks.
Proven leadership and team management experience.
Excellent communication skills with ability to partner effectively with executives, regulators, and auditors.
