Overview

We are looking to add a skilled Litigation Attorney to our expanding Commercial Litigation department. The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in various facets of commercial litigation, including general business disputes, shareholder conflicts, restrictive covenants, estate litigation, and other complex legal matters. This position demands strong legal research, persuasive writing, and the ability to confidently represent clients in court and legal proceedings at a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advocate for clients in courtrooms, mediations, depositions, and hearings.
  • Perform comprehensive legal research utilizing advanced tools such as WestLaw to shape case strategies.
  • Prepare, file, and manage legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Provide clear and strategic legal advice to clients regarding their rights and obligations in litigation contexts.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and support staff to ensure delivery of comprehensive, high-quality legal services.
  • Keep abreast of evolving laws and regulations impacting cases and client interests.
  • Maintain meticulous case files and documentation for all legal proceedings.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law institution.
  • Active licensure to practice law in New Jersey; admission in additional states is a plus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on commercial matters.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, capable of clearly explaining complex legal issues.
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms such as WestLaw.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail, capable of managing multiple cases efficiently.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while also functioning independently when required.
