Business Law Associate / Senior Associate

Transactional and/or Litigation
Employment Type: Full-Time

A well-established and respected law firm is seeking a Business Law Associate or Senior Associate with approximately 4–8 years of experience to join its growing practice. The firm is open to candidates with a transactional background, litigation experience, or a hybrid practice, provided they have meaningful experience in at least one of these areas.

This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of business law matters, with flexibility to shape the position around the attorney’s strengths and interests. The firm values adaptable lawyers who are comfortable navigating complex legal issues and who enjoy working closely with clients across a variety of industries.

Depending on experience, the attorney may handle:

  • Business and commercial transactions, including contract drafting and negotiation

  • Business and commercial litigation, including pre-litigation strategy and dispute resolution

  • Matters spanning corporate governance, shareholder disputes, contract disputes, or other business-related issues

  • Additional practice areas aligned with the attorney’s background and the firm’s needs

Attorneys in this role are given meaningful responsibility, direct client interaction, and the opportunity to grow their practice over time. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong legal judgment, excellent communication skills, and a practical, business-oriented approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 4–8 years of relevant legal experience

  • Experience in business law, with a focus on transactional work, litigation, or both

  • Openness to handling matters outside a single narrow practice area

  • Strong drafting, analytical, and advocacy skills (as applicable)

  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to client service

  • Interest in long-term professional growth within a stable, reputable firm

Why This Opportunity

  • Flexible practice mix tailored to your strengths

  • Sophisticated business law work with real client exposure

  • Collegial, professional environment

  • Competitive compensation and benefits, commensurate with experience

Compensation Structure

Compensation is competitive and performance-driven, with structures tailored to career stage.

  • Associate Attorneys receive a competitive base salary, with the opportunity for additional discretionary performance-based compensation tied to individual contribution and firm results.

  • Principal/Partner Attorneys are compensated under a formula-based model, including a regular draw aligned with expected revenue and periodic performance-based payouts.

Overall compensation is tied to fees collected, recognizing both business origination and matter responsibility, with opportunities for increased earnings based on productivity and contribution.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mid- to senior-level attorney seeking variety, autonomy, and long-term growth within a business-focused practice.

Qualified candidates are invited to submit a confidential résumé and brief summary of their current practice or book of business. All inquiries will be kept strictly confidential.
