Municipal Law Attorney Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Municipal Law Attorney to deliver high-quality legal advice and representation to public agencies, including cities and special districts. This role is ideal for an attorney with a solid background in municipal law who enjoys tackling a variety of legal challenges. From land use and contracts to ordinance drafting and governance, you will provide practical, ethical, and strategic legal solutions that help public agencies achieve their objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide practical, clear legal guidance to public agencies, including cities and special districts, on complex matters such as land use, contracts, and governance.
Draft and review ordinances, resolutions, and policies, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
Represent clients at administrative hearings, city council meetings, and planning commissions.
Collaborate with teams and clients to address public law challenges, delivering innovative, results-oriented solutions.
Train public agency staff on key legal topics, including AB 1234 compliance, to keep them informed and prepared.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, preferably in public agency, municipal law, or a related field.
Sharp, proactive, and detail-oriented, with strong research, analytical, and communication skills.
Able to thrive in a collaborative team environment while managing projects independently.
Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
Experience in government contracting, land use, labor and employment, or environmental law is a plus, but not required.
