TRADE SKILLS ARE THE RIGHT SKILLS! This is a unique opportunity to share your knowledge and passion for construction as well as make a MAJOR IMPACT on our youth, as we are seeking a Construction Technology Facilitator to lead hands-on construction and trades-based learning experiences for middle and high school students. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building, mentoring, and working in a dynamic, project-based learning environment.

The facilitator will guide students as they develop foundational construction skills, explore careers in the building trades, and work on real-world projects. This position emphasizes both skill-building and helping students understand how various construction systems and trades come together on a jobsite.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support students in hands-on construction and building projects
  • Teach foundational skills including measuring, layout, carpentry, and safe tool use
  • Reinforce jobsite safety and maintain a safe, organized shop environment
  • Introduce students to a range of trades, including:
    • Carpentry
    • Drywall and painting
    • Roofing
    • Light electrical concepts
    • HVAC basics
    • Finish work
  • Support implementation of construction safety curriculum (including NCCER CORE concepts)
  • Collaborate with MINDDRIVE staff on interdisciplinary projects
  • Assist with shop organization, tool maintenance, and project setup
  • Support after-school programs, workshops, and student showcases
  • Mentor students and help build confidence through hands-on learning experiences


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in construction, carpentry, or related building trades
  • Experience leading projects, supervising teams, or coordinating build activities
  • Interest in teaching, mentoring, or working with youth
  • Ability to clearly explain concepts while working alongside students
  • Familiarity with construction tools and jobsite safety practices
  • Experience with residential construction, renovation, or project builds
  • Strong problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for hands-on learning
