Civil/Bridge Crane Operator in Cape Girardeau

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced crane operator with 10+ years of experience in heavy civil or bridge construction. This role is critical to the safe and efficient execution of complex lifting operations, including piling, heavy picks, and structural placements on infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate a variety of cranes to perform piling, heavy lifts, and structural picks on bridge and civil construction projects
  • Interpret lift plans, load charts, and site conditions to ensure safe and precise crane operations
  • Work closely with superintendents, riggers, and ground crews to coordinate daily activities and lift sequences
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections and routine maintenance checks on equipment
  • Ensure all lifts are performed in compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety standards
  • Assist with planning and execution of complex or critical lifts
  • Adapt to changing job site conditions and project demands

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years of crane operating experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, or bridge construction
  • NCCCO certification (or equivalent) required
  • Strong knowledge of rigging practices, load charts, and crane safety procedures
  • Experience with piling operations and structural steel erection preferred
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, high-risk environments with a strong safety mindset
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed
